Those of you who were, like me, collecting comics back in 1974 may remember a group called The Comics Heroines Fan Club, CHFC. It was also known as the Adventure Heroines Publishing Association, AHPA. CHFC published a number of fanzine titles until its breakup in 1988. I bought a complete run of The Heroine Addict (renamed Heroines Showcase with #12) in 2012 on eBay along with some other fanzines from CHFC. I've scanned them to share with you. My friend Martin Lock edited two issues of the associated U.K. fanzine, so I asked him to put together a few pages to present the scans and write about the history of the group.
In 2013, Queen_Ynci@woadwarrior.demon.co.uk generously sent me photocopies of The Adventuress issues 1-13. There have been some ridiculous delays in getting them up on BCOTD, but I've finally crossed the finish line and present them to you here in time to coincide with BCOTD's 20th anniversary.
There were at least 3 CHFC art portfolios published, and I am looking for the other two. There were also a series of small format posters, some with art by Thomas O'Reilly. If you have access to any of those items, please contact me at Covers3@gmail.com.
